AI Sales Intelligence: turning account context into useful sales briefs
AI sales intelligence is useful when it reduces fragmentation: pulling together CRM history, account signals and current external context into something a salesperson can quickly judge and act on.
What it means
For me, AI sales intelligence is not a chatbot bolted onto a CRM. It is a workflow that retrieves the right context, synthesises it for a specific commercial moment and leaves room for human judgement.
The problem it addresses
Sales context is often scattered across CRM notes, old email conversations, enrichment tools, account research and current news. The cost is not only research time. Fragmented context can make a relevant signal easy to miss or a weak signal look more important than it is.
How I approach it
I start with the decision the salesperson needs to make, then work backwards to the minimum useful information. At Think & Grow, that led to Contact Intel: a Claude plugin used in Slack to generate pre-call briefs by combining HubSpot conversation history, Clay growth signals and live company and sector news.
A practical workflow
- 01
Start with a defined sales moment, such as preparing for an account conversation.
- 02
Retrieve relevant CRM history rather than dumping the entire record.
- 03
Add current account and growth signals.
- 04
Add live company or sector context when it changes the conversation.
- 05
Use AI to synthesise the inputs into a concise brief that a person reviews.

Evidence from my work
Contact Intel was built at Think & Grow and used in Slack to generate pre-call sales briefs using HubSpot history, Clay signals and live company and sector news.
The supplied evidence does not include adoption, time-saved, conversion, win-rate or revenue impact for Contact Intel, so I do not present those as outcomes.
